Victorian Ceramics specialises in deep, intense Victorian glazes. The glazes are formulated in-house to complement the designs from the William Morris, William De Morgan and Philip Webb collections.
Our glazes are based on original Victorian and Edwardian glaze recipes. Hand glazing ensures subtle variations in colour across each tile and from tile to tile providing the authentic look of period tiles. The life and individuality of our tiles makes every order entirely unique to each customer. As in original tiles of the period crazing is a normal feature of these glazes.
Our range of standard colours are shown below. Please let us know if you would like samples. We are also able to provide bespoke colours if required.
Standard tiles are 6″ x 6″ (152mm x 152mm) x 8mm thick and 6″x3″ (152mm x 76mm) x 8mm thick. A small shoulder in the edge of the tile provides a 1mm grout gap. The tiles should be set with a 1mm or 2mm grout gap. If the tiles are required to be ‘butt jointed’ (no grout gap) we can also offer this on request. Bespoke sizes are available.
The price for a typical set of porch tiles tends to vary between £550 for a simple design to £1200 for a highly decorative design. This would include two sides, VAT and delivery. A typical porch is 760mm wide x 1100mm high. We will be pleased to help design and provide a quote for tiles to fit your space.
