William De Morgan (1839-1917) was one of the most famous designers of tiles from the Arts and Crafts Movement, of which he was a founder member. His distinctive style and deep, intense glazes are instantly recognisable.
Victorian Ceramics produces a large range of tiles, based on the original designs of William De Morgan. Please select from below:
These blue and white (also available in Sepia) tile designs depicting Dutch frigates, trading ships, boats and galleons have been reproduced from several fireplaces within a large Victorian manor house in West Sussex. They are thought to be the work of Van Hulst, Harlingen, painted in Holland c. 1895 specifically for the British market. The originals were painted onto a 6”x6” tin white glazed tile which has crazed over the years giving them an attractive aged effect.
We offer two options, a tin white finish and also an aged crazed finish.
Delft sailing ship on tin white glaze 6”x6” £21.95 + VAT each
